Gold trading and XAUUSD

Gold is one of the commodity CFDs listed by Burjex Prime. This page explains XAUUSD in plain language, the factors traders often watch, and how gold sits on MetaTrader 5. It is educational. It does not promise profit, instant fills, or risk-free hedging.

What XAUUSD is

XAUUSD is the usual ticker for gold quoted in US dollars. On a CFD platform you are trading a contract on that price. You do not receive coins, bars, or allocated storage. Profits and losses come from the difference between your open and close prices, after spread, commission (if any), and overnight financing where it applies.

What traders typically watch

Gold often reacts to the US dollar, real yields, inflation prints, and geopolitical risk. Those relationships are not rules. Gold can fall when “safe haven” stories are loud, and it can trend quietly when headlines are dull. Treat every checklist as context, not a signal.

  • Dollar strength or weakness versus major currencies
  • Bond yields and rate-cut or hike expectations
  • Liquidity around New York and London hours
  • Your own position size versus stop distance

Gold on Burjex Prime

The commodities pages list gold with other metals (silver, platinum, palladium) and mention leverage figures that can differ from the generic “up to 1:500” shown on account pages. One commodities section currently states gold leverage up to 1:2000 against selected currencies. Because those numbers are not identical across the site, confirm the contract specification inside MetaTrader 5 before you trade.

Spreads on gold are described on the homepage as a focus area (“tight spreads on gold”) without a guaranteed pip figure. Live spreads move with liquidity.

Risk management

Gold can gap. A stop-loss is an instruction, not a promise of the exact exit price. High leverage on metals cuts the room for error. If you cannot explain how a 2% adverse move would hit your equity, the size is too large.

Frequently asked questions

XAUUSD is the common ticker for gold priced in US dollars. On a CFD broker it is a contract on gold’s price, not delivery of physical metal.
